Lane Closure
6th Street
Effective Friday, October 31, 2025, A-1 Construction will be using a crane for maintenance. A portion of the sidewalk will be closed. Please exercise caution in the area while the crane is in use.
Traffic Impact:
• 6th Street will have one lane closed.
o One lane in each direction will be open.
o Crane will be in use and portion of the sidewalk will be closed.

Lane Restriction
East North Street
Effective Tuesday, October 28, 2025, Mainline Contracting, Inc. will be installing a concrete sidewalk on East North Street. Drivers are advised to use caution as workers will be in the area of the lane restriction.
Traffic Impact:

- The southbound far lane will be restricted to traffic. Be cautious of workers in the area of the lane restriction.

Road Closure
Falls Drive
Effective Wednesday, October 29, 2025, Digger Construction, LLC, will be replacing and connecting the sewer line to the sewer main on Falls Drive.
Traffic Impact:

- A small portion of Falls Drive will closed to traffic.
- The sidewalk adjacent to the road work will also be closed to pedestrian traffic.

Road Closure
Omaha Street
Effective Sunday, October 26, 2025, A1 Railway Services will be making repairs to the railroad crossing and some asphalt on Omaha Street. Omaha Street will be closed at the railroad crossing near 3rd Street.
Traffic Impact:
• Omaha Street will be closed.
o Traffic headed west on Omaha will be directed to East Boulevard to Main Street.
o Traffic headed east on Omaha will be directed to 5th Street to Saint Joseph Street.

Traffic Restriction
Haines Avenue and Mall Drive
Effective Monday, October 27, 2025, Tru-Form Construction will be upgrading the intersection with traffic and pedestrian signals and a concrete sidewalk. Haines Avenue and Mall Drive will be restricted to a single lane in each direction on both roads.
Traffic Impact:
• Haines Avenue and Mall Drive will be restricted to one lane in each direction at the intersection.

Road Closures
Jet Drive and Turbine Drive
Effective Monday, October 20, 2025, Dakota Asphalt will be reconstructing Jet Drive and Turbine Drive. The roadway will be closed to through traffic until paving is completed. Access will be maintained to local businesses throughout construction.
Traffic Impact:
• Jet Drive and Turbine Drive will be closed.
o Access to the businesses in the area will be maintained.

Road Closure
East Philadelphia Street and North Creek Drive
Effective Monday, October 20, 2025, Black River Contracting will be installing a new water tie-in near the corner of East Philadelphia Street and North Creek Drive.
Traffic Impact:

- East Philadelphia Street will be closed west of Dixie Lane to North Creek Drive.
- North Creek Drive will be closed from the southern driveway to East Philadelphia Street.

Creek Drive
Effective Wednesday, October 8, 2025, J&J Asphalt will be reconstructing Creek Drive. North and South bound lanes of Creek Drive will be closed from East Saint Patrick Street to Rapid Creek Bridge. Local traffic access only. Detour route is posted around the closure.
Traffic Impact:
• Creek Drive will be closed.
o From Saint Patrick Street to Rapid Creek Bridge.

Lane Closure
East Minnesota Street
Effective Thursday, September 25th, 2025, Interstate Improvement will begin roadway repairs and surfacing work on East Minnesota Street. East Minnesota Street will be down to one lane in each direction from 5th Street to Elm Avenue. Pedestrian crossing at Elm Avenue will be replaced.
Traffic Impact:
• One lane will be shut down at a time on East Minnesota Street.

Traffic Restriction
Spring Brook Road
Effective Monday, August 18, 2025, Mainline Contracting will be preparing the location for foundation work.
Traffic Impact:
• There will be NO impact for traffic on Sheridan Lake Road.
• Minimum impact; the work will be completed on the other side of the Right-of-Way on Spring Brook Road.

Street Closure
Wonderland Road
Effective Monday, July 28, 2025, RCS Construction will be installing new water mains, sanitary sewer and storm sewers along with new asphalt pavement, concrete curbs and sidewalks. Wonderland Drive will be closed to traffic from Riva Ridge Road to Cosport Ct. See the below map for the affected area. The anticipated date of completion for this project is October 31, 2026.

Riley Avenue and East Saint Charles Street
Effective Monday, July 21, 2025, Lidel Construction will be installing a new sanitary sewer and water services along with some curb, gutter, sidewalk and paving. Riley Avenue will be closed from East Saint Patrick Street to East Saint Charles Street. East Saint Charles Street will be closed from Sioux Avenue to Riley Avenue. Sidewalks will be closed on East Saint Charles Street and Riley Avenue. See the below map for the affected area. The anticipated date of completion for this project is November 15, 2025.

Road Closure
West Boulevard
Effective Monday, July 14, 2025, Western Construction, Inc. will be reconstructing West Boulevard. West Boulevard will be closed between Saint Patrick Street and Flormann Street. This section of West Boulevard will be limited for area homeowners. Lanes may change depending on location of construction. Traffic will be diverted around West Boulevard on Roosevelt Avenue and Saint Patrick Street. See the below map for the affected area and detour route. Sidewalk Construction Project to Begin in Rapid City near Interstate 90 at Exit 60
RAPID CITY, S.D. – On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, work is scheduled to begin on the sidewalks on East North Street near Interstate 90 (exit 60) in Rapid City. Work will be conducted from the Eglin Street intersection south to the I-90 (exit 60) eastbound on- and off-ramps on both the east and west sides of East North Street.
During operations, the outside lanes of East North Street will be closed, and traffic will be directed to the inside lanes. Motorists should be prepared for suddenly slowing, stopped, and merging traffic, as well as construction workers and equipment adjacent to the driving lane. The work is anticipated to be substantially completed by Thursday, July 31, 2025.
The prime contractor on this $177,000 project is Complete Concrete, Inc. of Rapid City. The overall project completion date is Friday, Nov. 14, 2025.

Road Closure
Reservoir Road
Effective Tuesday, May 27, 2025, Site Work Specialists will be placing new curb and gutter, sidewalks, storm sewer, C-Walls, and underground utilities on Reservoir Road. Reservoir Road will be closed from Homestead Street to Crystal Mountain Road. The intersections of Reservoir Road and Bridge Street will be closed. The detour for access will be Homestead Street, Haakon Street and Crystal Mountain Street. See the below map for the affected area and detour route. The anticipated date of completion for this project is November 28, 2025.

Street Closure
Waterloo Street
Effective Monday, May 12, 2025, Lidel Construction will be installing a sanitary sewer system, water main services, sidewalks and curb and gutter. As well as new asphalt paving and restoration of existing landscape on Waterloo Street. Waterloo Street will be closed from the intersection of East Van Buren Street to the intersection of Racine Street. Please see the below map for further details.
*Update August 7, 2025: Effective Monday, August 11, 2025, Lidel Construction will be closing the intersection of Van Buran Street and Waterloo Street as part of the rebuilding the roadway and setting a new fire hydrant at that location.
The anticipated date of completion for this project is November 11, 2025.

Lincoln Avenue and Saint Anne Street
Effective Monday, March 31, 2025, RCS Construction will be installing a new water main, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer lines with new asphalt on the roads in this area. Lincoln Avenue will be closed from Meade Street to Saint Anne Street. The intersection will also be closed at Saint Anne Street and Lincoln Avenue. Effective Tuesday, January 7, 2025, Simon Constructors of SD will be closing a portion of Cottonwood Street and 7th Avenue for the installation of a water main, sewer main and storm sewer lines. 7th Avenue will be closed from Cottonwood Street to Jackson Boulevard. Cottonwood Street will be closed from 38th Street to Twin Elms Drive. See the below map for the affected area. The anticipated date of completion for this project is November 3, 2025.

Elm Avenue and East Meade Street
Effective Monday, July 22, 2024, RCS Construction, Inc. will be working on the water main and sewer. Upon completion of the water main and sewer, RCS Construction, Inc. will be working on constructing new asphalt, concrete curbs, sidewalks, and drain pans. East Meade Street will be closed from Elm Avenue to Lincoln Avenue. Maple Avenue and Grand Boulevard will be closed to through traffic. See the maps below for the affected areas and detour route.
