Agenda Item Summary:
Every five years, the Rapid City Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (RCAMPO) is required to produce a Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP), formerly known as the Long Range Transportation Plan, which identifies a listing of fiscally constrained multi-modal transportation projects. The previous plan, RapidTRIP 2040, was approved in 2015 by RCAMPO and the City of Rapid City. RapidTRIP 2040 expires in August, 2020, requiring the completion of a new MTP. In addition to the MTP, RCAMPO is updating the Rapid City Area Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan, which was adopted in July, 2011. HDR Engineering, Inc. has been selected to perform the MTP and the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan update.
