Agenda Item Summary:
A request was received in the Engineering Office on February 14, 2022 requesting the requirement of installing sidewalk along Creek Drive per City of Rapid City Ordinance 12.08.060 to be waived. Construction of approximately 390 feet of Five-foot wide sidewalk along Creek Drive is required at the time of building permit. No properties along Creek Drive north to E. St. Patrick St. or south to the terminus of Creek Drive have sidewalk installed. The nearest sidewalk to this property is along Lombardy Drive which is approximately 0.5 miles from the subject property. There is 640 feet of asphalt sidewalk along the west side of Creek Drive north of E. St. Patrick St., approximately 0.75 miles from the subject property. The requested variance will allow for development of the property without the installation of sidewalk. Public Works recommends approval of this request.
