Agenda Item Summary:
This Master License Agreement sets forth the terms by which Verizon Wireless may install small wireless facilities on City street lights and other poles and/or within City right of way or property to provide additional wireless service to users. The Agreement establishes a process where Verizon Wireless applies to the applicable City department for such installations, the City reviews the application and authorizes or denies the request. Installations which are approved may continue for up to 20 years, unless they are terminated earlier by either party, with Verizon Wireless paying the City $165 per year for each small cell installed pursuant to this agreement (an amount within the parameters set by the FCC in its 18-133 Order. The terms of this agreement have been negotiated over the course of many months by the City Attorney’s Office and the Public Works department and attorneys for Verizon Wireless.
