Agenda Item Summary:
Parks and Recreation Staff have been working with representatives of the Black Hills Farmers Market to discuss a new location that would better serve the needs of the market. The Farmers Market has been operating in Founders Parks since 2006 but has been steadily outgrowing this location for the past several years. Staff is very pleased with the current working relationship and excited about the possibilities the new location will provide for the open air market that serves the Rapid City community. 2017 Schedule: Saturdays: May 13-October 28 Tuesdays: July 11-September 26 (extend through October based on available products) Thursdays: July 13-September 28 (extend through October based on available products) The Parks and Recreation Department fully supports the efforts of the Black Hills Farmers Market and recommends that the Market be allowed to use the site at 145E. Omaha beginning in 2017.
