Agenda Item Summary:
City ordinance requires that unused sanitary sewer service lines be abandoned up to the sewer main. The construction of the Holiday Stationstores, Inc. gas station and convenience store on Omaha Street resulted in the abandonment of four sanitary sewer service lines to the sewer main in Omaha Street. The State DOT requested that Holiday Stationstores be permitted to wait until the Omaha / East Blvd. intersection is reconstructed – anticipated for 2018 – to abandon the sewer lines at the main, instead of digging into Omaha Street now. The City, Holiday Stationstores, and the State DOT all agreed so long as the obligations and procedures were formalized in an agreement.
