Agenda Item Summary:
The applicant has submitted a Major Amendment to a Planned Development Overlay to allow an on-sale liquor establishment in conjunction with a retail establishment within an individual commercial suite on the property located at 2200 N. Maple Avenue in the Community Shopping Center District (SC-2). The property is comprised of 56.73 acres and currently contains the Uptown Rapid Mall. The applicant is proposing to occupy an existing suite in the mall near the food court and operate a shop and sip business which includes a retail area in the front of the suite that sells items such as gifts, clothing, and accessories, as well as a bar area in the rear of the suite that serves bottled and canned beer, wine, soft drinks, and snack foods. All food and drink items and serving ware will be disposable. The on-sale area will include a bar that seats 6-8 people and 3 tables that seat 4 people each. The bar area will have lockable storage cabinets to store items. The proposed hours of operation will be limited to the mall hours: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday..
