Agenda Item Summary:
The applicant is proposing to vacate a 0.18 acre portion of alley right-of-way located between Maple Avenue and Elm Avenue, north of East Main Street North. Maple Avenue and Elm Avenue are classified as Commercial streets in the Infrastructure Design Criteria Manual. The proposed vacation of alley right-of-way will allow for the closure of the alley via gating to enhance security of the adjacent properties. All adjacent properties will have access from the existing street network. As such, vacating the alley right-of-way will not adversely impact adjacent properties. The adjacent property owners have all submitted the required petitions for right-of-way vacation. Written concurrence from the utility companies has been received by the owners as a part of this application. Drainage and utility easements will be recorded as necessary following the vacation of the alley right-of-way.
