Agenda Item Summary:
The applicant has submitted a Major Amendment to a Conditional Use Permit to expand an on-sale liquor use in conjunction with a restaurant at property located at 514, 516 & 518 Mount Rushmore Road and 724 Saint Joseph Street. Specifically, the applicant proposes to expand the footprint of the restaurant into an adjacent suite and to serve beer or wine to accompany the food that is the main product of the existing businesses, known as “Bokujo Ramen” and “bb’s natural”. The subject property is zoned Central Business District and is approximately 0.53 acres in size. The space currently occupied by Bokujo Ramen is situated in the northwestern part of the building, with the storefront facing Mount Rushmore Road to the west, and has a footprint of approximately 2,772 square feet. The space currently occupied by bb’s natural is situated in the southeastern part of the building, with the storefront facing Saint Joseph Street to the south, and has a footprint of approximately 1388 square feet. The proposed 2,360 square-foot expansion, to be known as “Wildcard” is located in a suite in the northwestern portion of the building and is connected to the current suites by a hallway. Other businesses located at this property include the Suzie Cappa Art Center.
