The applicant has requested a Conditional Use Permit to allow a Touring Business as a Major Home Occupation in order to park six commercial vehicles on a residentially zoned property. The applicant is proposing to park up to six commercial vans and sport utility vehicles on site from April through October for the year of 2023. The construction of the applicant’s company, Black Hills Tour Company, headquarters has begun but will not be completed before the 2023 tourism season begins. Therefore, the applicant is requesting to park the six commercial vehicles at 3434 West Main Street, their current home. These six commercial vehicles will allow the applicant to provide transportation for their tourism company. The hours of operations will be Monday – Sunday, 8 am to 6 pm. The property is zoned Low Density Residential District 1 which allows the parking of one commercial vehicle on the property. The parking of more than one commercial vehicle on the property requires a Conditional Use Permit to allow a Major Home Occupation.
