Agenda Item Summary:
The applicant has requested a Major Amendment to a Conditional Use Permit to expand an on-sale liquor establishment to include an outdoor patio. More specifically, the applicant is proposing to add a 1,607 square-foot covered patio to Puerto Vallarta Mexican Restaurant and Tequila Bar, located at 2321 N. Lacrosse Street, on the west side of the N. Lacrosse Street between E. Disk Drive and E. Mall Drive. The patio will be used only for food and beverage service and will not include any live music or other entertainment that could generate noise concerns. The restaurant anticipates having two of the 25 employees serve the patio and the hours will be 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Sundays through Thursdays, and 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. Construction of the patio will result in the removal of seven parking spaces, but the minimum parking requirements will still be met. The subject property is zoned General Commercial District and is approximately 4.1 acres in size. This property also includes the Country Inn & Suites by Radisson Hotel.
