Agenda Item Summary:
The Opioid Settlement Committee is requesting authorization to allocate up to $1,000,000 of Opioid Settlement Funds to key community agencies for substance use disorder (SUD) services, contingent upon the continued receipt of settlement payments. The requested disbursement schedule is attached.

This disbursement is designed to build sustained, local capacity for prevention, treatment, recovery, and emergency response services related to the opioid crisis and other co-occurring substance use disorders.

While the current available balance is approximately $540,000, the committee requests authorization for a total allocation of up to $1,000,000 to ensure efficient planning, continuity of services, and the ability to immediately deploy resources as future settlement funds arrive.

The total initial allocation of $1,000,000 is primarily directed toward creating and reorienting positions, enhancing training, and supporting critical infrastructure across four partner agencies.

Staff is requesting that funding for Phases 1-4 be immediately authorized to be released. Subsequent to this disbursement, every time a balance of $50,000 is achieved another disbursement will be made.
