Agenda Item Summary:
This agreement is a continuation of previously contracted serves related to Rapid City Police and Fire Department Co-Response efforts. On September 6, 2022, Councnil approved allocation of $150,000 in the 2023 Budget Resolution 6550 towards Volunteers of America Co-Responder efforts. The VOA aids in addressing non-emergent calls for service for both the Rapid City Police Department and the Rapid City Fire Department by providing necessary support services related to and essential for the City of Rapid City’s Co-Response program. VOA provides emergency shelter resources, and case management, to include navigation with regards to ongoing services which may be accessed by clients on a voluntary basis, to address underlying issues contributing to the need for emergency response. Volunteers of America is willing to enter into agreement with the City to provide a minimum of 48 hours per week of these support services during the course of this one year agreement.
