Agenda Item Summary:
Under this Agreement, the RCFD will provide ambulance response to most of the City of Summerset – all areas of Summerset that are not within the Piedmont Ambulance District. In exchange, the City of Summerset will pay a yearly fee. The fee is based on a formula taking into account the population, housing units, and area of Summerset. There is a provision that allows yearly increases in the fee pursuant to the Medical CPI, and the formula is re-calculated every 5 years. In addition to the fee paid by the City of Summerset, patients transported will be billed pursuant to the standard rates. The agreement is a one year agreement with automatic renewals. It can be terminated early by either party with 90 days’ notice.
