Agenda Item Summary:
This ordinance would allow a special event applicant to get authorization for open containers at a special event as part of a special event permit. This would replace the current procedure of a person having to go in front of the City Council to get a separate authorization for open containers in a public place. This was a collaborative effort between the Parks & Recreation Department, the Rapid City Police Department, and the City Attorney’s Office.
