Agenda Item Title:

Review and discussion of whether to allow the mandatory closures contained in Ordinance 6412/6413 to expire on April 8th, or whether the closures should be extended for an additional period of time.

Agenda Item Summary:
The emergency ordinance adopted in response to the COVID-19 pandemic ordered certain businesses where people gather for discretionary socializing and entertainment to close or alter their operations by ceasing to serve patrons for on-site consumption of food and beverages. This order is set to expire on April 8th. The ordinance gives the Council the ability to extend this closure for an additional period of time. In order to extend the order in the emergency ordinance, you will need to take action on this item and specifically vote to extend the order and provide an expiration date. If you take no action, the order will automatically expire on April 8th. If you want to extend the order, I would recommend extending it for two weeks to April 22nd. This would allow you to review the order again at the regularly scheduled Council meeting on April 20th.
