Agenda Item Summary:
The bid package is for the procurement of valves, meters, and fittings for the filter effluent piping that channels treated water from the filter to the next stage of the treatment process, and ultimately to the distribution system, at Mountain View Water Treatment Plant. The existing components are no longer functioning at their best and have been used for longer than originally designed to last. At this point, the equipment is becoming worn out, outdated, or prone to failure. The plant is currently inactive because of reduced demand during winter months. It is important that repairs and replacements happen prior to resuming plant operation in summer 2025, to avoid supply disruptions caused by equipment malfunction or failure.
