Agenda Item Summary:
The City of Rapid City was previously awarded a Federal Bridge Replacement Grant to replace structure number 52-375-296 on San Marco Boulevard. This agreement authorizes the DOT to bid and award the replacement project in combination with the City’s companion utility relocation project. The DOT project will replace the existing bridge with a reinforced concrete box culvert and the City’s companion project will lower the existing water main to facilitate the box culvert installation. There are approximately $130,000 of non-participating costs associated with the project (i.e. surfacing, water main lowering, etc.) The City is responsible for 100% of these non-participating costs. All structure replacement costs are cost shared at 5.34% City / 94.66% SDDOT per Amendment 1 to Agreement Number 717419 with the SDDOT.
