Agenda Item Summary:
A request was received in the Engineering Office on May 16,2022 requesting the requirement to install sidewalk along Dyess Ave. and Seger Dr. per City of Rapid City Ordinance 12.08.060 be waived. A sidewalk is required to be constructed along Seger dr. and Dyess Ave. at the time of building permit. Properties along Seger Dr and Dyess Ave. are developed and no sidewalks in place. The property owner is looking to build on the property triggering the need to install sidewalk. The requested variance will allow for construction on the property without the installation of sidewalk in the adjacent Dyess Ave. and Seger Dr. right-of-way. Seger Dr. and Dyess Ave. are a two lane, paved, street section with no sidewalks and topographical conflicts. Public Works recommends approval of this request
