Agenda Item Summary:
A request was received in the Engineering Office on February 21, 2020 requesting the requirement to install sidewalk along Rapid Street and 12th Street per City of Rapid City Ordinance 12.08.060 be waived. A five-foot wide sidewalk is required to be constructed along both Rapid Street and 12th Street, at the time of building permit, with the property having approximately 265 feet of frontage between the two streets. There is sidewalk 100 feet away down Rapid Street, and there are no topographical issues with building sidewalk in front of this property. Public Works staff recommends denial of the sidewalk variance request.
