Agenda Item Summary:
On June 14, 2019 Public Works received an Exception Request to allow for reduced pavement widths, no installation of curb and gutter and street light conduit along Glenside and Homestead Streets. The request was submitted in anticipation of a future lot split by platting. Homestead and Glenside Streets are classified as local streets, with Homestead being a rural road section with asphalt pavement and no ditches for drainage and Glenside being a rural road section with a gravel surface and no ditches for drainage. On July 2, 2019 staff approved the Exception to not install curb and gutter and street light conduit, but requiring the streets be constructed to a rural road section including pavement and ditches for drainage per Infrastructure Design Criteria Manual Section (IDCM) 2.15.3. Staff is also requiring a turnaround on Glenside Street per IDCM Figure 2-8; Glenside Street terminates at the end of this property and there currently is no turnaround. Public Works recommends denial of this appeal.
