Agenda Item Summary:
The petitioner applied for an exception request to waive the requirements to provide street light conduit in E. Saint Charles Street. The proposed Market Square Subdivision plat (City File 18PL038) has frontage to E. Saint Street for approximately 600’. There are no street lights currently installed along East Saint Charles Street. There are power poles with overhead power lines along the west 450’+/- of East Saint Charles Street. The east 150’+/- is without overhead lines. A lighting or conduit plan has not been submitted for review and approval so it’s unknown if the entire section of East Saint Charles Street can be adequately lit without street light conduit. The petitioner is appealing the Staff denial to the City Council.
