Agenda Item Summary:
The applicant has submitted a Preliminary Subdivision Plan to add 84 residential lots to the Apple Valley Subdivision. The proposed development is being created out of two vacant unplatted properties that are cumulatively 63 acres in size. The properties are outside of the City limits but within the City’s three-mile platting jurisdiction and are located north of S.D. Highway 44 and east of Anderson Road. A Preliminary Subdivision Plan is a tentative plan of a proposed subdivision requiring the installation of public improvements. Approval of a Preliminary Subdivision Plan by City Council is required before an applicant can proceed with Development Engineering Plans and a Final Plat application for all or part of the area within the Preliminary Subdivision Plan application.
