Agenda Item Summary:
The applicant has submitted a Major Amendment to a Planned Development Overlay to allow an LED sign to be added to an existing ground sign structure on the subject property. The subject property is home to the Canyon Lake United Methodist Church which has been an active entity within the community for over 50 years. The proposed LED sign will allow the church to provide clear messaging to community members. Additionally, a new name and logo sign will be added above the LED sign to replace their existing name and logo sign. The LED portion of the sign will be two-feet seven inches high by six-foot nine inches wide totaling 17.4 square feet of LED signage. In total the signage will not exceed 32 square feet in area, which is the maximum allowed size pursuant to the Sign Code. The existing sign structure foundation will be upgraded by adding a natural stone veneer giving it a more modern look.
