Agenda Item Summary:
The owner of 133 E Saint Charles failed to get her sidewalk cleared after a snow storm when her snow removal person was un-expectantly absent. She was unable to clear the snow for personal reasons. The notice was placed on the door and later the snow was cleared by our contractor. The owner understands her responsibility to keep it clear. However, it should be noted the property has never received a notice of abatement or abated.

The homeowner lives in the south part of the United States during the winter months and is supposed to get her mail sent to her. She did not receive the mail because of a mix up at the US Post office in Rapid City. She is willing to pay the bill, but is requesting forgiveness of the $100 late fee. This would bring her bill from $210 to $110. The bill has already been sent to assessment with Pennington County. John Olson, Code Enforcement division manager is asking on her behalf to forgive this part of the bill with the agreement of her paying the remainder of her bill. John is asking for this reversal with the permission of the directors of Community Development and Finance.
