Agenda Item Summary:
This ordinance contains a minor reorganization of the Community Development Department. The changes include the following • Long Range Planning Division description is updated to specifically include management of the Metropolitan Planning Organization program. Annexations (mentioned in the prior ordinance) and TIFs (not mentioned in the prior ordinance) are transferred to other Divisions. • CDBG Division is renamed Community Enrichment Division, and TIF planning and review is added to its responsibilities. • Planning Projects Division is added. The Division’s responsibilities include implementation of special projects and studies into appropriate ordinances, policies and procedures, annexations, historic preservation, historic sign review, grant management, and community education. • Parking Operations Division is added. This Division will house the new parking operations manager, parking enforcement, the leased parking program, lot and meter maintenance, and staff the Parking Advisory Board. • The responsibilities of the Building Services, Current Planning, and Code Enforcement Divisions remain the same.
